Shariq Jamal, DIG Lahore, Found Dead In His Flat

ISLAMABAD, Pakistan —  Sharik Jamal Khan, Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of Lahore, was found dead in a private apartment in the luxurious DHA area of Lahaore early on Saturday morning, local reports claimed.

Police said that after immediately transferring his body to DHA National Hospital, authorities decided to take it to Jinnah Hospital for an autopsy.

When the news was received, a police team led by a senior officer hurried to the hospital to oversee the inquiry.

The deceased widow was also present in the hospital, according to the local media reports.

The apartment where the tragedy takes place is under the Nishtar Police Station, but the dead DIG living in Phase 4 is under Police Defense-A Station.

It's not known why DIG went to the defense apartments; as a result, it's difficult to say if it was his first visit or whether he had been there before.

Responding to this tragic incident, the wife of the late DIG also filed a lawsuit. Local police authorities issued an official statement confirming the launch of a detailed investigation to determine the cause of death.

Police officers often gather fingerprints and other evidence from crime venues.

The autopsy report, on the other hand, will reveal Sharik Jamal's actual cause of death.
