Sindh Govt's Dhabeji Special Economic Zone Project Would Create 100,000 Jobs

KARACHI, Sindh — (Daily Post) - Chinese and local businessmen have agreed with the Sindh government to establish the "Dhabeji Special Economic Zone" in the Sindh'sThatta district. Special Economic Zones have been formed under CPEC with the cooperation of the Special Investment Facilitation Council (SIFC) to encourage economic development. Apart from providing over 100,000 jobs and garnering $3 billion in investment, the "Dhabeji Special Economic Zone" is projected to provide access to international trade channels because of its ideal location adjacent to Karachi's ports.  This agreement is heralded as a watershed moment in Pakistan-China industrial cooperation to boost the country's economy. 126 Killed In Tibet Quake

Tibet —  (Daily  Post) -  According to CCTV, the devastating earthquake that struck China's remote Tibet region at approximately 9:00 AM on Tuesday has claimed at least 126 lives. The Xigaze City, also known as the Shigatse City officials said that more than 29,000 families have been moved, hundreds of stuck people have been rescued and more than 3,600 houses have collapsed. The earthquake's 7.1-magnitude tremors affected adjacent countries, India and Nepal.  China's state network CCTV displayed images and photographs of the enormous destruction caused by the quake, including walls being ripped apart, houses being reduced to rubble, and debris being spread all over the ruins.  

35 Killed, 43 Injured As Car Ran Over Crowd In China

Beijing, China — (Daily Post)-   A mentally depressed man smashed a car into a crowd in Zhuhai City, China, killing at least 35 people and injuring 43 more, a Police officer said.   On Monday evening, a terrible incident occurred outside a sports complex in Zhuhai, a city in southern China. The probing report claims that Mr. Fan, 62, crashed his vehicle into a stadium in Zhuhai after running over groups of people exercising on the sports track.  Investigators say the 62-year-old driver, known as Mr Fan, is believed to be upset over the divorce agreement. As soon as the incident happened on Monday night in Zhuhai, southern China, police apprehended the 62-year-old assailant and took him to the hospital for self-inflicted knife injuries.  43 wounded people are being treated at a neighboring hospital, and their health is not in danger. 

Fatah and Hamas Signed Beijing Declaration

Representatives of competing Palestinian groups Fatah and Hamas signed the Beijing accord to fortify their ties and end years of discord.  Besides Fatah and Hamas, 12 other Palestinian factions met international media and China's Foreign Minister Wang Yi.  Establishing conditions for a coalition government after the war was China's main goal in extending invitations to Palestinian factions to visit Beijing.  The Beijing Declaration was signed after several rounds of unity debates between groups in China's capital from July 21 to July 23.  Hussam Badran, a prominent Hamas leader, stated that the most important aspect of the Beijing Declaration is the establishment of a Palestinian national unity government to handle Palestinian problems. China has made a significant contribution to the resolution of unsolved issues affecting Asian countries. China: Bridge Collapses, Claiming 11 Lives and Scores Missing

Following severe rains and flooding, a highway bridge partially fell apart killing 11 people in  Shangluo City, China.  According to Xinhua News Agency, five vehicles were pulled out of the river after the bridge in  Shangluo City collapsed  at 8:40 p.m. on Friday.  Xinhua further reported that dozens of people were missing after the bridge collapsed following heavy rains and sudden flooding.  After the downing of the highway bridge, China's Central Television, the country's main television broadcaster (CCTV), reported that more than 30 people and a dozen cars were missing.  Because of the dire weather, the rescue operation was extended to Sunday morning.  From January 2000 to March 2012, 157 bridges were crumbled in China, China's public media  reported , excluding earthquake-related incidents.  The research showed that natural calamities are mostly responsible for the bridge's collapse.  A primary cause, aside from eart...

16 Killed In Blaze At Shopping Center In China

At least 16 people were killed after a fire broke out at a shopping center in the Sichuan Province of China on Wednesday.   The 14-story shopping mall is located in a high-tech region in Zigong City, Sichuan Province.  The retail store, offices, restaurants, and movie theater are all built in the shopping mall, and the fire started at the bottom of the building, according to state broadcaster CCTV.  According to Chinese news agency Xinhua, the incident occurred at 5.50 p.m. on Wednesday.  Quickly responding to a fire call, firefighters and rescuers evacuated 75 people safely.  Rescuers used  water cannons  and firefighter drones to put out the flames.  Initial inquiries suggest that ongoing work within the shopping complex was the cause of the building's fire.  The most frequent causes of these fires are carelessness and damaged gas or electrical lines Chinese officials said. 

Five Indian Soldiers Killed In Ladakh Region

Five Indian troops died after their tank sank in the river while crossing the lake near the Chinese border.  The authorities in the Ladakh region claimed on Saturday that five Indian troops were killed after their tank sank while crossing a river in the Ladakh area, which borders China.  The newly created administrative division, Ladakh, comprises two administrative districts, Leh and Kargil with about 274,289 population per the 2011 census, and division headquarters at Leh district.  ladhak population is split roughly in half between the districts of Leh and Kargil.76.87% population of Kargil is Muslim mostly Shia, with a total population of 140,802, while that of Leh is 66.40% Buddhist, with a total population of 133,48, most of Its economy depends on tourism. Spanish Politician Says EU Will Not Recognize Taiwan

During an interview with a foreign policy magazine Josep Borrell Fontanelles, a Spanish politician who has been serving as the Union's High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy since 2019, said that Europe will not recognize Taiwan as a country.  Furthermore, he said that Europe needs to realize that breaking China through military conflict is not possible. Wang Yi Appointed As China's New Foreign Minister

On Tuesday, highly experienced and senior diplomat Wang Yi was named China's new foreign minister, replacing Qing Gan.  Without providing further details, the authorities said  Qing Gan  was absent from work due to health concerns.  His meeting with EU foreign policy chief Josep Borrell, scheduled for July 4, was later postponed by China without explanation, sparking speculation. However, the lack of information from his ministry led to rumors that he was being punished for political reasons or for an extramarital affair. A former staffer to President Xi Jinping and US representative, Qin Gang assumed control of the ministry in December but hasn't been seen in public since hosting foreign diplomats in Beijing on June 25.  Qin Gang's replacement, Wang, 69, was also the person who succeeded him, serving from 2013 to 2022 while relations with rival power the United States plummeted to an all-time low, according to Beijing.  He represented Qin during hi...
