Pakistan Plans to Launch Its First International Cargo Train To Russia In March

ISLAMABAD, PAKISTAN  —   On March 15, 2025, Pakistan Railways will test its first international freight train link to Russia. According to Pakistani media outlets, this new train link, based on a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU)   signed with Russia in June 2024, will enhance regional trade by linking Pakistan with Iran, Turkmenistan, Kazakhstan, and Russia. The cargo service would transport textiles, agricultural products, and food from Pakistan while also allowing Russian oil, gas, steel, and industrial commodities to be imported. This new project aims to cut transportation costs, boost efficiency, and strengthen Pakistan's role as a major regional economic gateway. As per the latest reports, the Pakistan Railway Freight Transportation Company (PRFTC) is collaborating closely with the Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI) to acquire containerized goods for the trial.

Sindh Govt's Dhabeji Special Economic Zone Project Would Create 100,000 Jobs

KARACHI, Sindh — (Daily Post) - Chinese and local businessmen have agreed with the Sindh government to establish the "Dhabeji Special Economic Zone" in the Sindh'sThatta district. Special Economic Zones have been formed under CPEC with the cooperation of the Special Investment Facilitation Council (SIFC) to encourage economic development. 6 killed In Multan After liquefied Petroleum Gas Tanker Explosion

ISLAMABAD, Pakistan  — (Daily Post)- Multan Police said on Monday that a truck carrying liquefied petroleum gas caught fire and blew up yesterday night in an industrial area in Multan, killing 6 people and injuring 38 others. The explosion shattered the windows and roofs of adjacent houses, as well as damaged material inside the dwelling.  Although the on-site situation has been under control, nearby residences have been temporarily evacuated as a precaution.  There was no clear indication of the cause of the purported explosion.  Multan Deputy Commissioner said the Pakistan Civil Aviation Authority had also been brought in for the rescue services.  The fire was effectively put out by rescue teams.  The victim's identity could not be determined immediately. Pakistan: Junaid Akbar Replaces Ali Amin Gandapur As PTI KPK President

  ISLAMABAD, Pakistan   — Ali Amin Gandapur, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa's chief minister, has been ousted as president of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf's KPK region as part of an important change in the party,  PTI press secretary reported Saturday.  A senior PTI  leader and member of the National Assembly (MNA) Junaid Akbar, has been elected as PTI president of the KPK position on the recommendation of imprisoned PTI founder and former Prime Minister Imran Khan. During a meeting in Adiala Jail, PTI founder and Pakistani former P.M. Imran Khan, Atif Khan, Malik Ahmad Khan Bhachar, and Mian Farhat Abbas decided to remove Ali Amin Gandapur from his post as president of KPK. Pakistani Military Ramped-Up Counter-Insurgency Operations, Killing 30 Terrorists

  ISLAMABAD, Pakistan  — Thirty terrorists were killed in multiple Counter-Insurgency Operations in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Province on January 24–25, 2025, ISPR reported.  Security forces executed one of three intelligence-based operations in the Lakki Marwat district.    In the operation, soldiers successfully attacked the insurgents' site, killing 18 and injuring 6 more. District Karak was the second location to launch an intelligence-based operation, according to the ISPR leaflet.  Eight terrorists were successfully eliminated by the security personnel in the following shootout.  About 4 terrorists, including ring commanders Aziz ur Rehman Qari Ismail and insurgent Mukhlis, were killed by the military soldiers in a third encounter near Bagh in Khyber District. 2 Khwarijs were injured. Iranian General Makes Strategic Visit To Pakistan

General Asim Munir, Pakistan's army chief, HAD invited Iran's top general to visit Pakistan for two days. He is scheduled to meet with senior Pakistani military leaders, as well as the president, prime minister, and defense minister. Major General Mohammad Bagheri, thinks that the Islamic Republic and Pakistan's military and security relations are becoming better with each passing day. General Mohammad Bagheri, who arrived in Islamabad on Sunday, told reporters that "we have witnessed significant developments in the region over the past year, where Iran and Pakistan, as two Islamic nations, are located in the historically important regions of West and South Asia." Topics of discussion include current regional developments, border safety, the fight against terrorism, and growing levels of defense and military cooperation.

China To Build Medical City In Sndh's Dhabeji Special Economic Zone

SINDH, Pakistan — (Daily Post)- A Chinese business delegation has shown an interest in investing $1 billion in Thatta's Dhabeji Special Economic Zone (SEZ) to create a medical city.  12 large Chinese enterprises joined Syed Qasim Naveed Qamar, Special Assistant to the Chief Minister of Sindh, on a visit to the Dhabeji Special Economic Zone. The Sindh government has approved the scheme. During the meeting, Syed Qasim Naveed Qamar, Special Assistant to the Chief Minister of Sindh, highlighted that the Dhabeji Special Economic Zone is a CPEC priority project.  Syed Qasim Naveed Qamar says that Sindh has a lot of appealing investment opportunities. Pakistani Military Eliminates 22 Militants In KPK

  ISLAMABAD, Pakistan —  On December 6-7, 2024, the Pakistani military perished 22  terrorists  in separate anti-terrorist operations carried out successfully in Pakistan's Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Province.  The Security Forces launched an intelligence-based operation in the Tank District's general Gul Imam region following reports of insurgent illegal activity. 9 terrorists were killed and others 6 were injured as a result of Pakistani troops' successful military operation.  Another Security Forces operation in the North Waziristan District resulted in the successful neutralization of Ten Khwarij.  Security forces thwarted terrorists from storming a security force post in Thall District and killed three Khwarij in a third military confrontation.  However, six courageous earthly sons accepted martyrdom by giving their lives in the fierce fighting.

Pakistan: Over 55 Martyred After Gunmen Went On Deadly Shooting Rampage In KPK

ISLAMABAD, Pakistan — (Daily Post) - More than 55 people were killed and 22 injured when gunmen opened fire on passenger vehicles carrying Shiite citizens in northwest Pakistan on Thursday.  The militants attacked the vehicles in Kurram, a district in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, that borders Afghanistan and has experienced fatal sectarian clashes in recent years.  According to Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi, terrorists opened fire on a convoy traveling from Parachinar to Khyber Pakhtunkhwa's capital, Peshawar.  After the horrific tragedy, Naqvi spoke with Ali Amin Gandapur, the chief minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, who has been striving to resolve the sectarian violence that has cost hundreds of Pakistani lives this calendar year.  As of right now, no group has taken responsibility for the shooting.  Gandapur, KPK's Chief Minister, expressed condolences to the deceased families and pledged financial help for the victims' relatives.  Security ...

Pakistani Forces Eliminated 12 Terrorists In Separate Operations

ISLAMABAD, Pakistan - (Daily Post)- The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) announced Wednesday that security forces killed 12 terrorists in two intelligence-based operations (IBOs) in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa's North Waziristan and Balochistan's Kech region.  The first operation, which was carried out on November 12-13 in Miran Shah, North Waziristan, was designed to target terrorists.  As a result, 8 terrorists were eliminated, and six were injured, with more cleaning efforts underway to clean up the region. In another operation in Kech, Balochistan, security forces killed four militants, including Sana alias Baru, the Majeed Brigade's chief recruiter.  The Pakistani military emphasized eradicating terrorism and ensuring regional stabilization and peace.

Dozens Killed In Pakistan After A Bus Plunged Into River

ISLAMABAD, Pakistan— (Daily Post)- On Tuesday afternoon at 1:00 PM, a passenger coaster carrying wedding party guests from Parishing, Astore, to Chakwal went off the bridge and plummeted into the river near Thalichi.  The groom and his mother are among the 26 persons who died as a result of the catastrophe.  According to authorities, just 14 victims' corpses were retrieved and brought to the Headquarters (DHQ) Hospital. Rescue efforts are still ongoing, and the only survivor, the wounded bride was taken to the hospital for treatment.   The coaster hosted 27 people, and only the bride survived rest of the others drowned in deep water.  The Pakistani town of Thalichi is situated in the Diamer district of Gilgit-Baltistan.  President Mr: Asif Ali Zardari conveyed his sympathies and sadness to the victims' families.   

Blast Rattled Quetta Railway Station, Killing Dozens

MIDDLE EAST NEWS — (Daily Post) -   A suicide bomb tore through the Quetta railway terminal on Saturday, killing at least 26 people and injuring many more. According  to  Balochistan  Levies  and Quetta Civil Hospital officials an explosion at the railway station in Quetta, southern Pakistan, killed at least 26 people and injured over 65 more.  A preliminary investigation report said the incident occurred on the platform as passengers were waiting for the Jafar Express, which was set to depart for Peshawar at 9:05 a.m. Police and other law enforcement rescue teams rushed to the scene when they heard about the explosion.  Victims' dead corpses and injured were transported to Quetta Civil Hospital shortly after the horrific incident.  A bystander said that he could see steel nails and bolts strewn at the place of the blast.  The explosion's high severity demolished the station's roof and commercial stalls.  No other identifying information...

Pakistan: Gun Fight Left 5 Terrorists Killed & 4 Soldiers Martyred

ISLAMABAD, Pakistan  — (Daily Post) -  At least 5 terrorists were killed and 4 Pakistani soldiers were martyred in an attack on the Pakistani army. Pakistan: Mastung Blast killed 9 people, including 5 children

On Friday, a bomb attack killed up to 9 people, five of them were children, and injured 29. Authorities informed the media that an improvised explosive device (IED) installed in a motorbike had targeted a school vehicle. The IED explosion occurred on Friday at 8:37 AM near Girls High School at Civil Hospital Chowk in the Mastung district of Balochistan. A day earlier, the Mastung bomb killed nine people, including five children, and injured 29 others. Regarding the incident, a terrorism case has been lodged.   Pakistan's Acting President Yousuf Raza Gilani, Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif vehemently denounced the Mustang explosion.  PM and Bilawal conveyed their sadness and anguish over the police officers and schoolchildren's martyrdom.

Pakistani Military Fend Off Terrorists Attack On Bannu Cantt

A deadly attack took place at a Bannu military cantonment in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, Pakistan, which is situated  330 kilometers east of Islamabad. On July 15, 2024, the Pakistani military repulsed a terrorist attack on the Bannu cantonment.  Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) sources said that an organized group of terrorists entered the cantonment using a vehicle equipped with explosives. Terrorists slammed a vehicle equipped with explosives into one of the cantonment's walls, according to the ISPR preliminary report.  Nevertheless, the troops thwarted the terrorists' attempt to gain entry to the building. Azerbaijan and Pakistani Leadership Consent To Consolidate Economic Ties

Pakistan and Azerbaijan have agreed to elevate their economic ties to a new level by investing up to USD 2 billion in projects that would benefit both countries.  Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev conducted a joint press conference on Thursday.  Sharif announced that both countries are willing to sign agreements worth $2 billion initially, with the prospect of developing this amount in the coming years.  The president of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev, said that the number of projects linked to energy, communications, infrastructure, and the military sector had been reviewed for a $2 billion first investment.  He continued to say that via commerce and investment, Pakistan and Azerbaijan will fortify their ties not just politically but economically as well. Pakistani Military Killed Highly Required Terrorists In IBO

On 10th July 2024, a joint intelligence-based operation (IBO) was conducted by Security Forces and Police in the Hassan Khel area of Peshawar District on the reported presence of a high-profile terrorist.  During the conduct of the operation, after an intense exchange of fire, three terrorists including HVT, Terrorist Commander Abdul Raheem were eliminated.  Weapons and ammunition were also recovered from killed terrorists. Jeep Plummeted Into Neelum River, Killing 13

Thirteen passengers were killed on  Wednesday  when a passenger vehicle plummeted into the Neelum River  in Neelum Valley.  Addressing the accident, authorities reported that although the police and rescue teams were sent to the location, the relief efforts faced many challenges due to bad rainy weather. However, according to rescue officials, four people were hurt and were taken to the hospital, while 13 people in the jeep that plunged into the Neelam River were killed. The mother and the two kids who were hurt while cutting grass at the scene were also been taken to the hospital, according to the police. Pakistani President Asif Ali Zardari expressed heartfelt sadness over the loss of valuable lives in the Neelum Valley of Muzaffarabad district, the capital city of Azad Kashmir.   The President sent his condolences to the families of the deceased.

Pakistan: Several Killed In Road Accident Near Khairpur Sindh

The coach carrying the passengers crashed on Sunday while passing another automobile in the Khairpur region, leaving 4 dead and many more injured.  The authorities said the collision was caused by human error, and they blamed the driver for overspeeding and overtaking.  The Victims all of whom were from the Metlo caste, were heading home to Rohri after trading their sacrifice animals at Karachi's livestock market. Resources transported at least 14 injured to the main government hospital in Khairpur for medical care.  The local police officer added that the names of the deceased are yet to be ascertained.

Bus Accident In Balochistan Claimed 28 Lives

As many as 28 passengers including children and women were reported dead by the local media after a passenger bus lost control and plummeted into a ditch.  The bus was en route to Quetta from Turbat city, a local police officer said.  The unfortunate incident came up in the Balochistan Washuk region early this morning at 5:39 A.M. Deceased and injured were transported to the local government hospitals for postmortem and ministration, one of the rescue members said. Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, President Asif Ali Zardari, Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, and Balochistan Chief Minister Sarfraz Bugti expressed their condolences to the families of the deceased passengers.
