Fatah and Hamas Signed Beijing Declaration

Representatives of competing Palestinian groups Fatah and Hamas signed the Beijing accord to fortify their ties and end years of discord.

Besides Fatah and Hamas, 12 other Palestinian factions met international media and China's Foreign Minister Wang Yi.

Establishing conditions for a coalition government after the war was China's main goal in extending invitations to Palestinian factions to visit Beijing.

The Beijing Declaration was signed after several rounds of unity debates between groups in China's capital from July 21 to July 23.

Hussam Badran, a prominent Hamas leader, stated that the most important aspect of the Beijing Declaration is the establishment of a Palestinian national unity government to handle Palestinian problems.

China has made a significant contribution to the resolution of unsolved issues affecting Asian countries.

Before that, China had mediated talks between Saudi Arabia and Iran to put an end to their long-standing rivalry.

China-mediated Saudi-Iranian deal producing 'wave of rapprochement', Wang Yi said on August 20, 2023.

Because of China's successful mediation, both Islamic countries, Saudi Arabia and Iran, have been enjoying brotherly relations.
