Pakistan: 23 Soldiers Martyred After Vehicle Slammed Into Military Facility

25 Pakistan Army personnel were martyred and 27 terrorists were killed in 3 separate incidents in KPK's Dera Ismail Khan on Tuesday, ISPR said in a statement.

ISPR reported "more violence" in the DIG Khan district on December 11 and 12.

The report claims that early on Tuesday, a group of terrorists broke through a security checkpoint in the Daraban general area.

"The terrorists' attempt to breach the post was successfully prevented, forcing them to crash an explosive-laden car into it before carrying out a suicide bombing assault.

According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) office, "the building collapsed due to the subsequent blasts, leading in numerous casualties; 23 gallant soldiers embraced martyred, while all 6 terrorists were effectively engaged and sent to hell."

It continued by stating that cleansing operations were being conducted to get rid of the potential terrorists that could still be present in the area.

"Security forces of Pakistan are determined to wipe out the menace of terrorism from the country and such sacrifices of our brave soldiers further strengthens our resolve," said the news agency.

Tehreek-i-Jihad Pakistan (TJP), a newly formed group linked to Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), claimed responsibility for the checkpoint attack.

According to the TJP spokesman, four bombers from the districts of Lakki, Dera Ismail Khan, Swat, and Mardan took part in the attack.

In the meantime, the ISPR announced that a separate intelligence-driven operation in the Darazinda region of Dera Ismail Khan led to the killing of 17 militants.
