12 gold mine workers were killed on Sunday when heavy rains caused a landslide.
According to local media, an accident occurred on the Indonesian
island of Sulawesi, at an illegal gold mine in Bone Bolango region of Gorontalo
province.
One of the eyewitnesses told the media on Monday that
approximately eighteen more workers remain stuck in the mine and are thought to
be dead. Nearly three dozen workers were buried in the mine.
Five workers were saved following a protracted struggle, the media
outlet claimed.
