— At least 65 including 7 Indians were killed when buses packed with
passengers crashed in the river.
According
to the local media, two buses carrying about 65 people got swept into the
Trishuli River by a landslide.
The
accident occurred in central Nepal on Friday. One of the buses
involved in the accident was traveling from Kathmandu to Gaur, while the other
was returning to Kathmandu from Birgunj.
The unfortunate vehicles were struck by a landslide in the Simaltal area in Chitwan district, some 120 kilometers west of the capital Kathmandu, at 3 a.m. on Friday, according to Nepla's government-run media.
The
Nepali Army took swift action to save innocent lives after learning of the
tragedy. A fast search-and-rescue operation is underway.
