The
United States of America on Thursday imposed its 6th round of sanctions on Israeli
extremists and unlawful West Bank outposts.
Three persons and five entities were targeted with sanctions, including the lehava group, which opposes marriage between Jews and non-Jews and is an ally of National Security Minister Itamar Ben Gvir.
Itamar Ben Gvir was already targeted by the Biden administration sanctions earlier this year.
The lehava group is anti-miscegenation, opposing marriages between Jews and non-Jews, which are outlawed by Orthodox Jewish law. The group has more than 10,000 members.
Most organizations and people targeted by the Biden administration sanctions have ties to those sanctioned in the prior four rounds.
The USA sanctioned four unlawful outposts: Manne Farm, Meitarim Farm, Hamahoch Farm, and Neriya's Farm.
State Department spokesman Matthew Miller said in a statement that "the United States is profoundly concerned about extremist violence and instability in the West Bank, which weakens Israel's internal safety."
